Who Are You?
Hello Club 100 Tribe, my name is Lindsay Townsend. Originally from Southern California, I moved to Tahoe on a whim with my best friend when I was 26 years old. I came “to ski for six months” but here I am 18 years later, happily married and raising my kids in this magical mountain paradise, and enjoying everything that Lake Tahoe has to offer. I am not a pro athlete or even someone with major athletic aspirations… I’m simply a mom and a small business owner who comes to the gym to “get the crazy out”
In 2013 after working in the local wedding industry for several years, I founded my own event planning business called Cloud Nine Event Company. I specialize mostly in weddings, but also have experience in corporate events, local fundraisers, and have helped with the coordination of the Rock Tahoe Marathon a couple of times.
Although my work can be very stressful at times, I feel extremely fortunate to say that I truly love my job. I find it so rewarding to see months of ideas and planning come to life on event day, and to witness my clients celebrate with their loved ones in the most beautiful place on earth. The work can often be very physical, moving tables, chairs, heavy iron signs, mirrors and standing for hours on end, dragging 60 lb linen bags after a 12 hour day.
In addition to the mental health benefits, my regular workouts have given me the strength and stamina needed to meet the physical demands of my career as I get older.
Since joining Club 100 and attending Rosie’s classes consistently for 2 years, I have noticed a marked increase in my strength and energy, allowing me to keep up at work, but also with my active children at home. You won’t find me on the the double blacks with my teenage daughter, but you will certainly see me on the slopes, trails, in the water and at the gym.
I love to work up a good sweat and feel the surge of endorphins all while minimizing the stress of my busy life. I truly believe a good workout is just as effective as any therapy session. I look forward to many more years of strength training, movement and mountain living and hope to someday look as good as Gloria and Eufay.
